BHOJPURI SINGER FROM UP ATTACKED WITH ACID

Webdesk, TNI Kanpur, 29th July, 2015: Yesterday in a shocking incident two bikers attacked a popular Bhojpuri singer (name withheld with the request of anonymity) in Kanpur attacked a Bhojpuri singer with acid. In the turmoil the attack attempt was unsuccessful however drops of acid fell on her hands and fingers causing burn injuries on her skin. A case has been registered and the search for the accused continues. The victim basically belongs from Gwaltoli in Kanpur. However, the reasons of the attack remain mysterious to the police. The victim and her brother denied of recognizing the attackers till now. The attack according to the woman is because of her popularity. It is learnt that the singer had received two separate threats to stop singing or face dire consequences.
